We currently teach Health and Social Care at KS4 and KS5 and Criminology, Psychology and Sociology at KS5. Student Support Leader - Pastoral Team

Are you passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential?  We are looking for a committed and compassionate Student Support Leader to join our Pastoral Team at Fakenham Academy from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, positive and eager to make a real difference to the lives of our students.

As a Student Support Leader, you will work flexibly with our students, teachers and Senior Leadership Team across the school. 

The core purpose of the Student Support Leader is to support the pastoral and SEND systems in school, including attendance, behaviour and SEND needs of students. 

You’ll be part of a team committed to high-quality pastoral support and will work closely with teachers and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure all students feel safe, happy, ready to learn and succeed.

The successful candidate will be able to set a calm, positive tone with students, consistently reinforcing school expectations and policies.

Cover Supervisor

HOURS: 32.5 hours a week - Term Time Plus 1 week DEADLINE EXPIRED

We wish to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our Cover Team to start as soon as possible. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence and undertaking other duties such as tutor-time supervision, break/lunch duties, providing support to the Pastoral and SEND teams and administrative tasks when required to ensure consistent care, support, and continuity of learning for all our students.

Applicants must be adaptable and resilient with good interpersonal skills. The ability to gain the respect of students is essential.   Applicants should ideally have had previous experience of working with young people between the ages of 11 to 16.

Sixth Form Academic Support Assistant

HOURS: 35 hours - Fixed Term Until 31.8.2027 DEADLINE 16 September

As a Sixth Form Academic Support Assistant, you will work with specific students across Fakenham Sixth Form who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities and are classed as having high needs. You will help the students access A level and BTEC Level 3 learning in the classroom and support them academically during study periods, provide tailored support, and promote independence and confidence.

You will be expected to follow the Professional Standards for Teaching Assistants, which include:

1.    Upholding personal and professional conduct.

2.    Developing strong knowledge and understanding of your role.

3.    Supporting high-quality teaching and learning.

4.    Working effectively with others across the school community.

You’ll be part of a team committed to high-quality support and will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure all students feel safe, included and ready to succeed.

Previous experience of working with young people, or in an educational environment, is desirable.  Consideration will be given to applicants who are considering a career in education and wish to gain experience. Exam Invigilator

HOURS: Bank Role - £14.78 per hour (including holiday pay) DEADLINE 05 October

Fakenham Academy is looking to recruit Exam Invigilators to provide support to the Exams Officer and be responsible for the efficient conduct of public examinations in accordance with the regulations of the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ). 

Exam Invigilators are required to work on a flexible basis, at mutually agreed times.  There is no guarantee of regular work or a guaranteed minimum of hours per year.  Exam Invigilators are required to work at various times during the year for both public examination and mocks and are expected to be available for main exams (May and June).   Our mocks are scheduled in February, April and November.  Successful applicants should be able to offer a minimum of 3 days during the exams.

Invigilator training is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 4 January 2027, so you will need to be available to attend this training if your application was successful.
