Future Skills

Sixth form students attend Future Skills lessons which is a crucial part of their academic journey, not only to deepen their knowledge in specific areas but also to equip themselves with essential life skills.

Future Skills lessons encompass a broad spectrum of areas that extend far beyond the confines of a textbook. We recognise that success in life depends not only on academic prowess but also on one's ability to navigate the challenges of the real world. Therefore, students delve into a range of subjects -  world of work, finance and budgeting, health and wellbeing, relationships and self care skills.

Furthermore, our Future Skills curriculum nurtures qualities like resilience, adaptability, and time management. As students prepare to step into adulthood, these skills become essential tools for managing the complexities of modern life. They are taught how to handle stress, make informed decisions, and cultivate a sense of responsibility.

Social and emotional development are also integral components of life skills education. Sixth form students learn to collaborate with diverse peers, resolve conflicts, and develop empathy — qualities that are vital for building meaningful relationships both in their personal lives and future workplaces. In essence, our Future Skills curriculum serves as a compass guiding students through the uncharted waters of adulthood. By incorporating these skills into their education, students are better prepared to face the challenges and opportunities that await them, ultimately shaping them into responsible, capable, and resilient individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to the world beyond the classroom.
